WNBA Expansion Team Toronto Tempo Reveal Their Uniform For Debut Season

The anticipation around the Canadian expansion team, Toronto Tempo, is set to rise as the franchise unveils its debut uniforms for the 2026 season.
Led by Larry Tanenbaum of Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, this is the franchise's second big announcement of 2025. On 16th December, the new WNBA team released the first look of the jerseys, inspired by "rooted in the city, built for its fans, and crafted to reflect the Tempo's forward-driving spirit."
Chief Marketing Officer Whitney Bell made the official statement marking the milestone for Canada's first WNBA team.
She said, "Every detail of these uniforms is intentional. From the [color] story to the speed lines, we've created a design that brings our brand to life and represents our city, our fans, and our team. We cannot wait for our players -- and our fans -- to wear them with pride."
The inspiration for the design comes from the signature colors

Toronto Tempo players will don the colors Toronto Bordeaux, hydrogen blue, or Borealis blue, black, and white. The jersey, with sponsors like Sephora and Nike visible on the front, has speed lines running down either side of the uniform to mimic the lines on the team logo.
The deeper meaning behind the 6 lines represents the 5 players in 5 lines and the 6th line standing for the sixth player, the fans.
The Tempo will have two different versions of the uniform, one called the WNBA Nike Heroine Edition in the color white and the other in Tempo Bordeaux called the WNBA Nike Explorer Edition. These distinct versions will help "expand[s] the franchise's presence within lifestyle culture".
One of Tempo's sponsors, Sephora, will donate $26 for the first 1,000 jerseys sold to a Canadian organization called Girls E-Mentorship (GEM) that empowers high school girls facing socioeconomic barriers.
Toronto Tempo's other Pre-season Preparation
One of the main decisions for the Toronto Tempo was acquiring a head coach. On November 4, 2025, the Tempo announced former New York Liberty coach Sandy Brondello as the team’s first HC.
The 2026 season schedule is not out yet, but Toronto Tempo will call the Coca-Cola Coliseum in Ontario their home stadium.
The team enters the WNBA as a member of the Eastern Conference, the first WNBA team located outside of the United States, and the first from Canada.
