Even the WNBA seems to be well aware of Paige Bueckers' unfiltered nature when it comes to basketball.
A June 2025 X update from the promotion highlighted "Buckets's" nonchalant approach during her chit-chat session with Kelsey Plum, which happened after the Wings vs. Sparks match on June 6.
According to Plum, Bueckers was "talking s***" with her, which caused the WNBA brass to label her a "Certified Instigator" when they reposted the video on December 29.
Due to a concussion protocol, Bueckers missed the aforementioned Wings vs. Sparks encounter. However, she kept her eye on the game from the stands and didn't mind exchanging a few allegedly brash words with the seasoned campaigner, Plum.
It was hard to figure out what the rookie said to Plum from WNBA's clip, but the 31-year-old's subsequent comments clarified the situation.
"Rookies [Bueckers, in this case] talking s*** is crazy. Your rookies are built different here."
But while Bueckers allegedly played the "instigator" in this case, there are other instances where her methods of playful instigation were caught by the camera.
Paige Bueckers has also trolled a multiple-time WNBA MVP
Unlike the incident mentioned above, Bueckers has also mocked her opponents inside the court while the matchwas in progress.
Once she locked her radar on the noted WNBA icon, Jonquel Jones, for the same purpose, amid a match.
Bueckers and the Wings locked horns with Jones' New York Liberty on August 5, 2025, where "Buckets" scored an impressive two-pointer despite being restricted by Jones fiercely.
Bueckers also drew a foul from Jones' illegal conduct, which got the latter refuting the decision and rotating her palm, desiring a review. However, sensing that she had already scored, Bueckers imitated Jones' palm-rotating action to portray her victory in the situation.
In other words, the Wings' No. 5 didn't refrain from trolling even the two-time MVP, Jones, despite being in her rookie season. Only time can tell, which veteran will be the next on her list.
