A'ja Wilson has expressed he feelings about the new CBA. The Las Vegas Aces star says the players never back down during the 16-months they went back and forth with the WNBA.

Wilson, who is set up for a supermax contract, made the statement in the wake of the 8-day, 100-hour marathon meeting that finalized the CBA.

"There's money in our pocket. I feel like I think I'm here. I'm really, really proud of the fact that we never folded. We never left the table in moments where I guess the league tried to shook us up a little bit. In moments where people just felt like we needed to give," Wilson said, per reporter Dana Scott.

Wilson is one of the select few players to benefit from the CBA's latest supermax contract, as she is set to renew with the Las Vegas Aces contract before the Expansion Draft.

Her latest supermax salary is set to be worth $1.4 million, the new high mark of the fresh CBA, according to Callie Fin of the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Under the previous CBA, the supermax salary was $249,000, which is lower than the league’s new minimum salary.

The 29-year-old is the easiest choice to be the first player to receive this boost, as she is often touted as one of the greatest in league history.

Only last season, she led the Aces to their third straight championship win, averaging 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 50.5% from the field.

In eight years, she has led the Aces to WNBA titles thrice, with four MVP awards, two Finals MVP awards, and seven All-Star selections.

A'ja Wilson Opens Up About Her Love for Phoenix

Wilson's return to Team USA's training camp on Wednesday also led her to come back to Phoenix, where she last won her WNBA championship along with the Finals MVP title.

Phoenix is also the location for the NCAA women's Final Four, as Wilson revealed in the same interview what the place means for her during her time training in the red and blue stripes.

"Yeah, I mean, this town means a lot to me. I've won my recent championship here, but Phoenix has always been a good space for just hoops," Wilson said.

"I feel like the fans, the culture, the community that they put behind their hoops, it's been really, really fun, and I'm glad that we're able to have different things for people to go to to see us when it comes from the high school level all the way to the USA," the 29-year-old added.

The two-time Olympic champion will take part in a training camp for the first time since helping the U.S. win the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Games.
