‘We Finna Be Millionaires’: Courtney Williams, Natisha Hiedeman React to Life-Changing WNBA Deal

WNBA stars Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman are celebrating a massive payday. The league's new CBA prompted the duo to exclaim, 'We finna be millionaires!' This historic agreement represents the largest pay rise in US sports history.
This is a 300%+ increase, the largest pay rise in US sports history, as the "Studbudz" podcast hosts could not contain their excitement in a recent video on their channel. "We finna be millionaires, bruh. The first millionaires in our families," Courtney Williams said alongside Natisha Hiedeman.
After a 16-month negotiation, the CBA deal was finalized. Players will now receive an average salary package of $583,000, a significant rise from $120,000 last year. In addition, the salary cap has jumped from $1.5 million to $7 million.
The WNBA's supermax contract also received a significant boost. One player from each team can now earn $1.4 million, compared to last season's maximum of $249,244.
However, neither Courtney Williams nor Natisha Hiedeman is expected to be in contention for a supermax contract with the Minnesota Lynx: since Williams is not an MVP-level candidate and Hiedeman serves as a solid rotational bench player. Their teammate, Napheesa Collier, is widely viewed as the frontrunner for the deal.
The “Studbudz” duo was not alone in celebrating the financial win on social media, as Angel Reese, Napheesa Collier, Brittney Griner, and Allisha Gray, among others, also shared their reactions online, whether through humorous comments about getting rich or bold statements regarding their focus on next season.
Will Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman Stay at Minnesota Next Season?
Both Williams and Hiedeman are currently in free agency, and so is 80% of the league after the delay in the CBA negotiations, since they did not allow players or their agents to negotiate any contracts with teams. Nevertheless, the podcasters do not intend to be without a team for long now.
Williams averaged 13.6 points, 6.2 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.3 steals per game this season, which deservedly earned her second All-Star selection. Williams' impact went beyond statistics; she was the heart of Minnesota, leading with experience and an expressive personality.
Hiedeman also had a memorable season, averaging a career-best 9.1 points, 2.8 assists, and 1.9 rebounds per game. "T-Spoon" finished third in the Most Improved Player Race and second in the Sixth Player of the Year standings.
The duo should find a new team quickly if they do not re-sign with Minnesota.
