With the most glamorous night of fashion just around the corner, Serena and Venus Williams joined the elegant list of guests in New York. And the entry couldn’t have been any more stunning.

On May 4, the two icons of tennis checked themselves in for an intimate pre-Met dinner hosted by Anna Wintour at her private residence. And even before the actual event started, the Williams sisters’ outfits did not miss.

“Serena Williams and Venus Williams arrive for the pre-Met Gala dinner,” Athlete Vanity’s latest X post read. The two clips were dedicated to Serena walking out of the car in her bold red sequinned gown. And Venus turning heads in a strapless black, rhinestone beauty.

The younger Williams got out of the car first, took some time to fix her gown before posing for the cameras. As Serena made her way into the building, the backless design, sharp asymmetrical cut, and black heels stole the moment.

Next, it was Venus’ turn to take the spotlight as the rhinestones on her dress shone with every step. While the earrings and bracelets enhanced the look, the 45-year-old entered the building with her husband, Andrea Preti.

After hitting the mark with their bold fashion stances, both Serena and Venus will head into the bigger show next. And given Venus Williams’ role this year, it is set to be even more special.

Upon entering the Metropolitan Museum of Art, guests will attempt to portray the “Costume Art” theme with a dress code of "Fashion Is Art." But for the older Williams, especially, the moment is bigger and more impactful.

“I love the theme. It’s a perfect fit for me,” Venus said during a recent interview with Vogue. “It’s even more important today because people feel so much pressure to look a certain way. Though there’s so much beauty in difference.”
