“That’s All You Have”: Lexie Hull Gets Real About College Life

Sophie Cunningham invited one of her best friends and teammates, Lexie Hull, to a special edition of her podcast Show Me Something called 'Live From the Bracket' on Tuesday, as they reminisced on their college days.
Hull revealed the stark differences she felt coming to the WNBA right after living in her own bubble with her teammates in college.
"I feel like you are with each other 24/7, like once you get to the WNBA, like people kind of do their own thing, people have lives and families and kids and like all the things, but when you're in college, that's all you have," Hull said.
While the NCAA had players taking tests and studying, WNBA stars focus on just the game since they're going up against a whole new talent pool. They don't go up against just NCAA talent, but players coming in from all over the world. But that's not all. WNBA stars stood for a cause bigger than the league with the CBA negotiations and took a huge step. That's why the pressure, when compared to what collegiate athletes face, is much different.
That was part of the reason Hull missed her NCAA days. "And so it's so fun to go get every meal together, and you're sitting in a room, and you're working on homework together because that's something else you have to focus on," she added.
Perhaps Hull will see a different side of things in the upcoming season. After all, she is a restricted free agent, and there might be teams looking to sign her for the 2026 season.
And as for reliving some of her college life, Hull is teaming up with a former roommate.

Hull is the latest athlete to step into performance-focused beauty products, joining forces with her roommate and veteran investor, Sarah Guller, to form Forta Cosmetics.
“Forta was born out of a real need for long-lasting makeup — Lexie experienced it as a WNBA pro, and I experienced it rushing from boardroom to boardroom. We’re excited to bring this brand to millions of women who work and play hard: the career woman, working moms, Pilates princesses, and anyone who refuses to slow down,” Guller explained.
While the brand isn't just for athletes, Hull and Guller plan to use their network of professional athletes for future promotions.
