Aliyah Boston proved she is human, as she became the latest victim to fall to the WNBA legend Candace Parker's April Fool's joke. And fans failed to restrict themselves from tuning in to the instance.
On the April 1 episode of the duo's Post Moves podcast, Parker decided to have some fun with the Indiana Fever star on the occasion of April Fool's Day. She posted a fake X update stating that Boston and A'ja Wilson would receive $1.7 million and $2.5 million payouts, respectively, as compensation for former players who played before NIL rights.
Aliyah Boston's reaction was that of someone who struck the lottery in their first spin. "Wait till my mom hears this," she exclaimed after hearing the news.
Parker, who was just announced in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, continued to troll Boston. She added more information to her lie, such as "all national champions that played on the team will receive an additional $150,000 bonus," which got Boston excited again.
But alas! Boston's dreams came crashing down after Parker revealed the truth. However, all in all, they managed to make a light-hearted moment go viral on social media.
While Boston will not be getting the big payout from USC anytime soon, she can wake up to reality with some good news. Thanks to the latest CBA agreement between the WNBA and the players' union, a huge increment is coming the 24-year-old's way.
However, fans were thoroughly entertained by the way Parker bluffed Boston on April Fool's Day.
Fans React to Candace Parker's Hilarious Prank on Aliyah Boston
Social media is usually ruthless when it comes to pranks, as users engaged in their fair share of light-hearted trolling toward Boston. "That face... Loved this," one user expressed with laughing emojis. "Candace, you are so wrong for that," another fan commented.
A third one went on a trip down memory lane to justify Parker's prank. He penned, "Payback for when AB tried to get Candace with the fake Bears trade! This April Fools was so savage, though. Well done!"
"I love the 'sisterly' jabs they throw at one another," one more fan added their pleasure of watching the duo's bond.
Another user honestly admitted that even they were bamboozled by Parker's prank. "Had me looking for the post. AB was already spending that money."
While April Fool's Day is over, fans can expect to see more of the entertaining duo in their podcast.
So, do you think Boston will come back at Parker with something similar to have her revenge?
