Nobody saw this coming, but the Texas Tech Lady Raiders are straight-up dominating this season.

In the recent ranking, they finished 13th in the Big 12 preseason coaches poll. Not just that they've flipped the script, leading the conference at 6-0 while cruising to 19-0 overall. They gave the program its best start ever. And then on Tuesday night, they kept that magic alive.

No. 17 Texas Tech snatched win from No. 19 Houston, grinding out a 71-59 home win to stay perfect. They forced 27 turnovers and held the Cougars to 36.7% shooting.

The senior guard Bailey Maupin took the charge with 19 points. Which was her 11th straight double-digit outing, going 6-for-6 at the free-throw line. Following it she also added five rebounds, three steals, and a team-high four assists.

Not her alone, Jalynn Bristow stuffed the stat sheet too. Making 14 points, seven boards, five steals, and two blocks. Denae Fritz hit 10 points on 4-for-5 shooting, plus three takeaways.

Tech jumped early with a 5-0 run, built a 16-9 first-quarter lead, and sealed it down the stretch with clutch free throws after Houston's late push.

And in this, they're not flying solo in the unbeaten club.

Texas Tech Exclusive Unbeaten Circle

Texas Tech joins UConn and Vanderbilt as the last three perfect Division I teams standing right now.

UConn's at 17-0 or better, roaring back from last year's injury nightmare under Geno Auriemma with a balanced squad this season. The Huskies have led by at least 20 points in every single game this time. And also boast a plus-52.5 net rating.

They have the best defense in the country (71.3 defensive rating). Not just that they also have the best player in the country ft. Sarah Strong.

Also Vanderbilt's shredding the SEC too at 17-0-ish. They are tying the best start in program history. Mostly because of an elite offense led by Mikayla Blakes and her strong 3-point shooting. They're laughing off the transfer portal exits of top scorers Khamil Pierre and Iyana Moore.

Tech leads this surprise trio, defying preseason shade with grit and timely heroes, next up, Kansas State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
