Taylor Swift’s Blade Angels Promo Earns High Praise From Gold Medallist Amber Glenn

Taylor Swift’s introduction did not miss the mark. So much so that gold medalist Amber Glenn is praising Taylor Swift's new 'Blade Angels' promo on Instagram.
“It’s great to see an artist collaborate with athletes […] what we do is our own type of art, so to have someone encourage that…” said the oldest athlete of the Blade Angels trio.
“It was really cool, there’s certain lyrics for each of us if you listen, and they each represented us so well...” she added, while praising Swift for doing what the pop-star does best.
“She nailed it! That was just an absolute honor, it was so beautiful, and we’ll have that video for the rest of our lives!” the 26-year-old star added.
The trio claimed gold in the team event on February 8. Team USA (69) brushed past Japan (68) and Italy (60). But despite the strong start, Glenn lost momentum at her short program on February 17.
With an ‘invalid’ double-triple loop jump, she ranked 13th and ended her solo medal run. However, the Texas native came back with an iconic performance.
Amber Glenn’s Iconic Comeback
Glenn’s teammate, Alysa Liu, claimed gold in the free skate event on February 17. While Isabeau Levito ranked 8th. But the 26-year-old left the ice while crying. “I don’t know what happened, I had it”, Glenn could only say in disbelief.
However, what followed was a strong, near-perfect, redemptive performance on February 19. Glenn closed the night with a season’s best 147.52 in the free skate event, making a rally from 13th to 5th overall, and recording the third-highest score of the night.
Glenn is one of those few female figure skaters who can land the trickiest triple axels. Only due to a minor stumble did her performance suffer, just a hand on the ice while landing.
And this comeback resonates strongly with what Swift said about Glenn. Who has fought, won, and lost many battles while “embracing the fight and daring the world to test her self-belief."
Glenn and her team will return to their home with their heads high, as there will be gold sitting around their necks. What do you think about Glenn’s comeback performance? Comment it down.
