Angel Reese's historical trade from the Chicago Sky to the Atlanta Dream is not the only thing making waves on social media regarding her, as she takes over the headlines at Victoria's Secret.

The 23-year-old forward attended the launch of her first-ever Victoria’s Secret global campaign for the brand’s “Season of Strapless” swim collection at the 5th Avenue flagship store in New York on Tuesday.

An X update from Athlete Vanity displayed snippets from the summer campaign shot in Barbados, showing Reese modelling a strapless maroon top and matching bottoms while holding the new Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Bronze perfume.

“As the face of our Summer season, Angel leads with impact across Bombshell Bronze Fine Fragrance, our Summer Swim collection, and the new Invisible by Victoria’s Secret Strapless collection,” said Adam Selman, EVP, Chief Creative Officer at Victoria’s Secret & Co.

Reese is not new to modelling, having taken part since her college days at LSU. This is also not her first stint with the Victoria's Secret brand, as she debuted at the lingerie brand's fashion show back in October last year.

Apart from Victoria's Secret, Reese also joined forces with Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue in 2023.

While Reese is one of the most popular and successful WNBA players in recent memory, she has admitted that the time will come when she eventually has to leave the sport.

“Basketball is gonna stop one day,” Reese shared in reference to her ever-expanding, multi-hyphenate title, adding, “It’s important to have your own narrative and be able to take control of that.”

To Reese's credit, having multiple endeavours provides a safety net like no other. The latest Atlanta signing also runs her own podcast, "Unapologetically Angel", where she lets fans into unfiltered conversations with athletes and celebrities around the world.

While Victoria's Secret celebrated Reese's trade news, fans on social media had mixed opinions regarding her involvement with the lingerie brand.

While some fans on Athlete Vanity's post regarding Angel Reese's latest endeavour with the lingerie brand were happy to see the 23-year-old continuing her passion from her college days, others had something or the other to say.

"This is not even remotely a vicki girl stop doing this crap." One user argued that Reese is not up to the level of a Victoria's Secret model.

"Barbados Barbie!" Another user commented, showing love for her nickname.

"Better shoot more than 35% from the field!!" One user wanted to talk about her game stats rather than commenting on her latest look.

"If Angel is on the cover, I will buy it!" One fan penned that they would put out the cash should Victoria's Secret make her front page.

"She is FAR from a supermodel or a VS model. I thought Victoria’s Secret was done with the woke inclusion mentality. I guess I was wrong." Another user was unhappy with the lingerie brand for capitalising on Reese's latest trade.
