“Still Have Unfinished Business”: Lexie Hull on Her Return to Indiana Fever

On Saturday, as the Indiana Fever announced Lexie Hull’s return for her fifth season in Indiana, the guard shared a message about coming back.

“Indy has been my home over the last four years, and there was no other place I could imagine playing right now. We still have unfinished business, and I’m so excited to continue building on all that we accomplished last season,” Lexie Hull said in a press release recently.

“I’m a West Coast girl turned Midwesterner, and I’m ready to do everything I can to bring another WNBA championship to Indianapolis,” the 26-year-old added.

Hull is coming off a strong 2025 season with career highs of 7.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. Hull's impact clearly didn't go unnoticed in the front office.

“Ensuring Lexie’s return was a high priority for us,” said Amber Cox, expressing excitement about bringing her back to the team.

“She represents the heart of our team, and that was never more evident than in our playoff run last season… We are thrilled to have her back in a Fever uniform,” Cox added.

Hull recorded her first career double-double in June against Seattle with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and later added her first postseason double-double against Las Vegas in September with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Lexie Hull helped the Indiana Fever win the 2025 Commissioner's Cup and get to the WNBA Semifinals for the first time in ten years. But the WNBA championship, the real Unfinished Business, slipped away.

With her return, the Fever get back a high-energy defender and reliable outside shooter, giving the team a solid boost moving forward. But life in the spotlight isn't always easy for Hull.

Lexie Hull Gets Real About Scrutiny in Caitlin Clark Era

While Lexie Hull is happy to return, she also shared that playing alongside Caitlin Clark comes with a different kind of pressure.

Hull said, “The most challenging part is there’s just so much scrutiny. People have opinions online, and, unfortunately, that’s part of the job and the role that we play,” the 26-year-old said.

When asked if she has personally faced online attacks, Hull responded, “I’m sure I have. I try not to read comments for that reason.”

Lexie Hull was drafted by the Fever in 2022 and had two quiet seasons. Everything shifted in 2024 with Caitlin Clark's arrival, which brought more attention and tougher competition.

Now, all eyes are on how she performs alongside Clark this season. Can Lexie Hull and Caitlin Clark lead the Fever to a championship this season?
