Jerzy Robinson continues to carve her name in high school basketball history before entering college. This time, the South Carolina commit has dethroned one of the game’s brightest stars, JuJu Watkins.

In a January 17th game at the Hoophall Classic against Long Island Lutheran High School, Robinson scored 33 points to become the all-time leading scorer in Sierra Canyon High School history, passing USC Trojans JuJu Watkins.

Robinson ended the night pushing her career total to 2,355 points. Before the game, she was tied with Watkins' total of 2,322 points, set before the USC star graduated in 2023. What makes it more impressive is that Watkins recently became the first athlete in school history to have her jersey retired at Sierra Canyon. She visited the campus two weeks ago for the honors.

“I would say JuJu is greatness,” Robinson told ESPN. “So, to be in that category, that league is a blessing. The biggest honor, you know, to be able to come to Sierra Canyon is by far one of my biggest blessings ever in my life.” The two have a similar career path, having transferred to Sierra Canyon for their sophomore seasons.

But the 17-year-old senior guard had no idea about the surpassed record. The Trailblazers formally recognized Robinson’s milestone during a game against Chaminade High School, where she added another 29 points to her tally and made 8 rebounds. The celebration caught her completely off guard. Robinson admitted she didn’t even realize she had surpassed Watkins’ record until the ceremony happened.

“It’s the greatest honor,” she said. “But I think it’s just the beginning for my goals… We’re not done yet.” The Arizona native also joined Watkins and Mackenly Randolph ( class of 2024) as just the third Sierra Canyon girls’ player to make 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her high school career.

She committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks in December, announcing the decision live on ESPN’s NBA Today. The locker room erupted as she told Staley on video call, “I’m ready to be a Gamecock.”

She is the No. 5 recruit per ESPN’s SportsCenter NEXT 100 Class of 2026, and as per high school head coach Alicia Komaki, a “complete, all-around player." The 6'2 guard already has 3 Team USA gold medals at the FIBA U19 World Cup in Czechia, where she averaged 7.7 points and four rebounds.

With JuJu Watkins sidelined with injuries this season, the two Sierra Canyon alums could be playing each other next season.
