Sophie Cunningham Sends Important Message for Holiday Season

Dec 24, 2025, 10:16 AM CUT

This holiday season comes with hope and warning. That’s because the WNBA is currently in the middle of negotiating a new transformational deal with the players’ union. But amid those uncertainties, Sophie found a chance to highlight something even more important.

She took to her Instagram stories and penned a heartfelt note for her 1.3 million Insta family.

“Holiday travel can be overwhelming. Show grace to others, help your neighbor when you can (especially the elderly and single parents with kids), practice patience, spread love during the holidays,” she wrote alongside a picture of her with her sister.

And honestly, there couldn’t be a more adorable message she could’ve shared. That’s because during the holidays, airports, roads, and public places get extremely busy. So stress levels run high, and patience runs low.

At that time of the year, showing kindness can help many people. But that’s not the only lesson. She even encourages helping people who may need extra support.

So yes, our enforcer isn’t just a better fighter or a good friend, but a kind-hearted person too. But she isn’t just giving this message, she’s implementing it, too, especially the patience part.

How Did Sophie Smartly Handle the Situation With a Smile?

When Sophie Cunningham arrived for the Sundae Conversation interview with former Barstool Sports media personality Caleb Pressley, which aired on December 21, Pressley jokingly asked whether WNBA players get paid.

Rather than diverting the question or pouring out her frustration, she kept her answer simple and subtle. “Barely. But we’re still surviving,” she said.

And yes, that’s true. Most WNBA players’ salaries make up less than 10% of their net worth. Even for Soph, her WNBA salary of $100,000 is just 5% of her $2 million net worth. Can you think of a better answer? So why not try to implement Sophie’s lesson this holiday season, too?
