This January, Sophie Cunningham joined over 100 WNBA players in free agency. And with ongoing CBA negotiations, her future remains uncertain.
Amid the tensions, Sophie seems to be navigating different career paths. And this time, her inspiration comes from Snoop Dogg.
On 5th January, she took to her official X account and penned, “hahaha my broadcasting career inspo,” right after the LA Clippers vs. Golden State Warriors game. While it can be a joke, but she do have the potential to match the vibe Snoop Dogg just delivered.
It came when the two teams were fighting on the court and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was ejected. Right then, it was Snoop Dogg who picked up the headset midgame and reacted to Kerr’s ejection.
“Back him up,” Snoop shouted. “Back him up, G[ary] P[ayton]. Steve is ready to fire on him!… Get him, Steve! You’re in Inglewood, Steve! The Arizona Wildcat has come out.”
Well, the voice, timing, and delivery matched and turned a crucial moment into comedy. And it was enough to impress Soph. However, broadcasting isn’t the only career Soph might be interested in!
She’s up for the WWE ring too
After Sophie Cunningham shoved Jacy Sheldon to the ground last year, she’s been a hype. She even got the nickname “enforcer” for taking revenge on behalf of Caitlin Clark. Not just that, she was even extended an offer to join WWE.
And just weeks ago, she shared how she aspired to WWE as a kid. She also revealed that she might join wrestling as a career, as she was approached by WWE.
“Actually, they asked me to do it,” she said during the December 21 episode of Show Me Something. “Maybe after I retire or during the offseason, maybe us two will be the new WWE duo.”
So after retirement or the offseason, it might be on the way. Until then, she might consider broadcasting. After all, she knows how to engage.
