Sophie Cunningham’s 2025 season was cut short due to an MCL injury, allowing her to play only 30 out of the 44 games. But the guard is shaking some feathers on social media as she shared an update amid her rehab journey.
Sophie Cunningham shared an Instagram story with the caption "about to be in the best shape of my life."
The Missouri native has been taking hot pilates classes to deal with her injury. In her story, she said, "Day 4 of hot pilates. I did go yesterday. I went in the morning. And in the morning it's more of like a meditation and a stretch."
She then went ahead and explained her knee rehab routine. "I always do rehab every day for my knee. I did on court a little and then I did pilates, so maybe I overdid a little."

While she is sitting out Unrivaled, Sophie does seem motivated to get back to playing basketball.
Narrating her conversation with her pilates teacher, Cunningham emphasized the 'to each its own' workout routine. She said, "I just have to balance it. A lot of these people who come here, flexibility is better for them. But I have to do what's best for my body.
I have a bad back, so this is for me, stretching and engaging my core, and sweating. So that's what I do."
She was proud to share her daily update, ending it with a quick recap of the different exercises she's been doing. "So I did rehab, I lift a little bit, and then I did hot yoga."
Cunningham said she preferred the pilates because "it works the little muscles and gives me a really great base. And then it just makes me sweat, which is awesome!" However, rehab and recovery haven't stopped her from staying in the limelight.
Sophie Cunningham has been busy
Her other offseason ventures include running a podcast with West Wilson called Show Me Something. She is also the second Indiana Fever star to sign up for Project-B, following Kelsey Mitchell.
Sophie Cunningham also made headlines when she joined Fever teammates Claitlin Clark and Lexie Hull on the golf course. She caddied for Clark at The Annika LPGA Pro-Am in November 2025, alongside Hull.
Meanwhile, as a free agent, Sophie Cunningham has been open about wanting a bigger contract for herself. With the Indiana Fever, she averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds in 30 games.
With recovery on the go, where do you think Sophie Cunningham will land next season?
