“Shows With Clowns?” Fans Stay Divided at Jalen Rose After Caitlin Clark Praise Goes Viral

Apr 4, 2026, 1:02 AM CUT

Jalen Rose's high praise for Caitlin Clark is going viral, but not for the reason he hoped. Fans are deeply divided online.

The Indiana Fever star attended Rose’s Panel on Friday. And despite being a Michigan man, Rose didn’t hide his fondness for CC and her play. The main highlight was how he articulated himself.

"How you've changed the game not only collegiately but professionally, and how disciplined you are, how professional you are, how well you respect your teammates, how you're all about winning — that's to be admired."

Rose added that during her collegiate career, CC “pulled up to the logo 3 times against” Michigan. But even if that caused frustration at that time, Rose knows how Clark has impacted the game. In fact, in one February 2024 game against Michigan, Clark managed to reach a career high of 49 points scored in a single game as Iowa swept past Michigan with a 106-89 scoreline.

However, there was a split in the comments.

Fans Had Divided Opinions

CC’s collegiate career is more than just decorated. She has been the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball history (men's or women's) with 3,951 points, with historical records under her belt. So, a fan had a very blunt question.

“Why does she go on these shows with clowns?”, they wrote. While the context may not be clear, it might just mean that CC deserves to be on better platforms, or it can also link to yet another incident.

This involves Rose’s own daughter, Mariah Rose. This 25-year-old is a volleyball player who also hosts the “Hoops 4 Hotties” podcast. After Rose made controversial claims about Clark, fans of the Fever superstar didn't waste any time making their unhappiness known. And that's fan one user added.

“Meanwhile, his daughter @mariahcrose has perpetually bad takes & has been consistently pushing hate towards CC”, wrote a fan. Another added, “I didn’t know that queen of bad takes was his (Jalen’s) daughter.” “Is this a case of the apple falling far from the tree?” asked another.

Despite a stellar collegiate career, Clark never won a national title. While this is not a parameter to evaluate her game, one user did it anyway. Supporting that claim, another wrote, “A person that never won anything being praised as a GOAT.”

But another fan was quick to counter, writing, “She has more points in college than anyone who played. Be quiet. Listen and learn. Many great players didn’t play on super teams in college, and some bypassed college, ie, LeBron.”
