Paige Bueckers doesn’t really have rivals except for one on her own team. And yes, we’re talking about Rickea Jackson.
The two superstars are working together to push Breeze BC forward in Unrivaled. But they never miss a chance to share some playful “beef.” No we’re not saying this, but it’s something Jackson herself admitted.
During a recent postgame interview, she was asked if they were still going back and forth. “We’re gonna beef forever,” she replied with a smile. Well, it all comes up after PB made a social media post tagging Jackson.
She shared a photo where Jackson looked happy and in focus, while Bueckers appeared blurred in the background. And as it landed in Jackson’s feed, she quickly responded in the comments.
“I begged you not to post that pic,” she wrote. “Because it looks like I enjoy her when I don’t.” And that was enough to catch fans’ attention. However, this isn’t the reason Breeze's remarkable duo has given fans to talk about!
Their relationship goes far beyond jokes
Once PB and Jackson step on the court, their chemistry is undeniable. And Jackson made that clear as well.
“We’re just competitors. We’re young. We’re fun,” she said. “But we also know there’s a job to be done. We know when it’s time to be serious and when it’s time to have fun and let loose.”
Well, Sunday’s game was a perfect example of that balance. Despite playing without Cameron Brink, the duo ensured it didn’t affect the outcome.
They traded baskets early, and Rose BC was never truly in the game. Breeze opened with a 12–0 run, fueled by seven quick points from PB, to take a nine-point lead late in the first quarter.
Then, Jackson scored back-to-back buckets to open the second, pushing the lead into double digits. That was enough to let the game slip away from Rose BC. And finally, Breeze snapped a two-game losing streak and climbed above .500 with an 81–56 win.
However, the credit for the big win goes to PB, who led the way with 31 points and 11 assists on 14-of-22 shooting, and Jackson, who followed with a strong night of her own, finishing with 20 points and nine rebounds. So, the chemistry was obvious.
