Paige Bueckers Adds Another Honor to Her Rookie Season

Dec 28, 2025, 12:30 PM CUT

Paige Bueckers’ 2025 keeps getting better and better, even in the last few days of the year.

Having won the national championship with UConn, followed by a first pick in the 2025 draft and a Rookie of the Year honors to end it, the Dallas Wings star has now added ‘Outsports’ 2025 Female Athlete of the Year’ to her resume.

“For those accomplishments and more, Bueckers is the 2025 Outsports Female Athlete of the Year”, the official outlet wrote.

Her rookie season, though not as memorable from a team standpoint, was nothing short of extraordinary. She averaged 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists, shooting 47.7% from the field. Her 19.2 points per game average gives her the 5th spot in the league this season.

This comes on the back of her explosive 44-point performance against the Los Angeles Sparks. She added 10 assists and 9 rebounds to finish her box score, making 17 of 24.

The Outsports Female Athlete of the Year honors are based on equal on-court and off-court impact. And Paige Bueckers has certainly been busy off-court and in the WNBA offseason.

The honor arrived as Bueckers has been in the spotlight for the hype surrounding Drake and a potential collaboration with Nike, filing her trademark logo for footwear and apparel use.

Additionally, Outsports highlighted her work away from basketball through the Paige Bueckers Foundation. Established in 2022, she aims to “create opportunity and promote justice in four primary areas: Sport, Creative, Economic, and Food & Wellness.”

She used her foundation to donate upwards of $65,000 in sports equipment to underserved youth programs and contributed $50,000 to Good Sports’ Restore Play LA initiative.

Paige Bueckers’ offseason has been equally busy

The All-Rook was called to join the training camp for the senior women's Team USA at Duke University, North Carolina. Accompanied by Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, and more equally talented co-players, Bueckers earned a special mention from Jackie Young for her game play and all-around performance.

She now heads to Miami for Unrivaled, playing for Breeze BC alongside Cameron Brink, Dominique Malonga, and more.

Do you think Paige Bueckers will be able to take the same hype for her year 2 in the WNBA? What are your predictions?
