NCAA Women’s Basketball: Olivia Miles Claims Top Spot in Rare Company

The Horned Frogs continue to separate themselves from the rest of Division I. TCU is the only team in the country averaging 85 points per game while allowing fewer than 50. But, no one understands that dominance better than Jacksonville, which suffered an 89–49 loss. But amid the blowout, Olivia Miles stood out on both ends of the floor.

Midway through the third quarter, when TCU rattled off 14 straight points. Olivia Miles was everywhere. She drilled a three-pointer. She finished a layup. She assisted on three of the next four baskets. Moments later, with TCU leading 50–28, she grabbed a defensive rebound and pushed the pace herself.

And that was the story of her night. She scored. She rebounded. She facilitated. In just 28 minutes, she had 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. This marked her second triple-double at TCU during the team’s 11–0 start. Also, her eighth career triple-double is the most by any active player in NCAA women’s basketball.

She has had six triple-doubles during her four seasons at Notre Dame, including back-to-back games last December. Though her last came in a 95–40 win over UTEP, where she posted 15 points, 10 rebounds, and 11 assists.

It might seem easy, but even for her, it isn’t. As she herself put it during the post-game press conference, “It’s something you have to set an intention for before the game and really choose to be aggressive on the glass”

Olivia Miles now ranks fourth outright in NCAA history for career triple-doubles. And that’s not it. She owns two of the five triple-doubles recorded across 49 seasons of TCU women’s basketball.

“Rebounding is the hardest part for me. Assists come naturally, and scoring happens in our offense. But when I get two or three rebounds in a quarter, it helps ease the pressure,” she added.

Miles is also the ninth player in Division I history to reach 1,500 points, 700 rebounds, and 700 assists. So quite evidently, the spotlight is deserved. But, she’s not the only one powering TCU’s rise.

TCU's Other Game Changers

Behind Olivia Miles, the Horned Frogs have opened the season 11–0 under head coach Mark Campbell. They are one of just 12 undefeated teams in Division I. Apart from Miles, TCU is led by two more phenoms.

To start with, Clara Silva had 21 points. She went 10-for-10 from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds. It marked her second double-double of the season and of her career. She’s now the only player in program history to shoot perfectly from the floor on at least 10 attempts. Even her 21 points rank as the seventh-most by an underclassman center this season.

Then, it was Suarez who followed with at least 15 points and five assists for the fourth straight game. She knocked down a game-high three three-pointers and tied Miles with three steals.

Thanks to their contribution, the Horned Frogs have scored 80 or more points in nine of their 11 wins. But they’re not done yet. Next up, TCU will face Arkansas–Pine Bluff on December 17, 2025.
