Indiana Fever forward Myisha Hines-Allen (2) poses for a photo Wednesday, April 22, 2026, during media day at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

Myisha Hines-Allen Credits Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston After Fever Media Day Remarks

Myisha Hines-Allen revealed the reason she chose to join the Indiana Fever this free agency: Caitlin Clark.

During a media availability on April 22, Hines-Allen told reporters that the prospect of playing alongside star player Caitlin Clark made the decision to move to Indianapolis easy.

“Being able to play with Caitlin Clark, I think that was a huge eye-opener. Like, I have the opportunity to play with one of the greatest players that’s ever gonna play the game of basketball. So, for me, once I also heard that she really wants me here, too, I was like, ‘Oh, well, let’s get it done then! There’s no question about it.'” she said

Hines-Allen's comments reflect Clark's growing reputation as a teammate of choice.

Clark is one of the most recognizable names in the sport, not just on the hardwood but also off it, and she brings fame and visibility to the team and, by extension, her teammates. Hines-Allen, a former WNBA champion herself, reinforced Clark's draw as a teammate.

Hines-Allen started her rookie year with the Washington Mystics, who drafted her 19th overall in 2018.

After winning a championship in her rookie year, she took her game up a notch, averaging 17 points per game, up from 2.3 points in the previous season.

Since 2020, she has been a plug-and-play piece for every team she has played for, either in the starting lineup or off the bench. Most recently, she played for the Dallas Wings, averaging 7.6 points and 6 rebounds across 40 appearances.

While Clark is the reason Myisha Hines-Allen decided to join the Fever, she also praised Aliyah Boston.

Myisha Hines-Allen is Impressed with Aliyah Boston

Myisha Hines-Allen joins Monique Billings and Damiris Dantas as players who will support All-WNBA center Aliyah Boston.

Boston has just renewed her contract with the Fever in a WNBA-record deal worth $6.3 million over four years, thanks to her All-WNBA season last year, which Hines-Allen also endorsed.

"And again, you got Aliyah Boston, who is amazing, like last year, I was so impressed with the way she played, like, just to be able to play off of her, to help her and the team to grow, it was definitely like, I need to be here, I need to do this." The 30-year-old said.

She also added that she is ready for any challenges during her time with the Fever, and the first one soon arrives on May 9 against her former team, the Dallas Wings.

Do you think MHA will receive any minutes during the opening night of the new WNBA season?
