Minnesota Lynx Star Reveals How She Really Recovers After Games

Jan 1, 2026, 1:24 PM CUT

While the WNBA season is over, Kayla McBride isn't slowing down, playing for Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahçe. And while preparing herself ahead of the game, McBride revealed her secret to playing without massive breaks.

As she prepares to play in the Turkish league, she posted a video after a game, giving fans a look at her post-practice recovery routine. She rolled out a mat on the floor and began what she calls “Ramoni’s yoga sessions.”

She moves through a series of poses and stretches, then calls it a night, setting herself up for a smoother Day 2.

“I don’t want to pretend that I’m going to go to the weight room because I’m not. I’m in my room. It’s 10:45 at night. We play tomorrow at 2 p.m., and this is usually what it is for me. I try to make it part of my routine. Not something that I have to do, but just a part of it. So not only is the yoga and the movement good for me physically, but mentally—like releasing all the tension from the travel,” she said in the video.

It may not be a secret, but it’s effective. Yoga is widely used by athletes to improve joint and muscle range of motion, allowing them to move more freely and efficiently. And for McBride, it’s especially important right now.

Through her first six games, she’s averaging 15.5 points per game along with 3.5 rebounds. So that’s how McBride’s offseason is shaping up. But…

What About the 2026 WNBA Season?

McBride joined the Minnesota Lynx in 2021 on a three-year contract. As she became an essential part of the roster, the Lynx re-signed her to a two-year, $413,000 deal. So far, she’s been impressive and is earning a base salary of $205,000.

However, this contract expires at the end of this year, meaning McBride will enter free agency in January 2026. Whether she re-signs with Minnesota remains unclear. That’s because her future will depend on the new CBA and how the draft and salary structure shapes out.
