Megan Thee Stallion has made a remark about Angel Reese, indicating the kind of influence she has beyond the WNBA world.

The rapper, during a conversation with USA Today's Meghan L. Hall, was asked who she stanned in women's basketball. Her response was instant and bolstered the fact that Reese's impact was truly remarkable.

"I feel like everybody knows Angel Reese is my girl. That is my twin," Megan said. "I feel like she is also a girl who always has collabs going on. She is always working... To be so athletic and so focused on her craft... She definitely still has an incredible work ethic off the court. I think that's very cool. She’s so sweet and so nice."

And while Megan and Angel Reese come from different worlds, they share a bond that goes as far back as 2024.

The two met for the first time in Chicago after Reese was invited backstage during Megan Thee Stallion’s Hot Girl Summer Tour in May. This came after Angel Reese publicly expressed her desire to meet Megan.

In August of the same year, Angel Reese made a surprise appearance on stage during Megan's set at Lollapalooza Chicago.

And as Reese was recovering from a surgery on her left wrist the very next month, Megan sent flowers with a note that read, “I’m always rooting for you twinnn. Wishing you a speedy recovery.”

Megan Thee Stallion and Angel Reese were later seen dancing together at a Halloween party in Chicago in October 2024.

Megan and Reese also attended the May 2025 Met Gala together, with Sports Illustrated dubbing them the “cutest duo on the Met Gala carpet.”

That being said, the star hooper has been open about the ill effects of her popularity.

Angel Reese on the Downside of Fame

While stardom might make it seem like everything is on the up-and-up, it is a double-edged sword, in reality, that brings recognition while taking away one's privacy. This is something that Reese has been open and vulnerable about.

"It does get overwhelming because some days I want to just wake up and be able to walk outside with shorts on, hair not done," Angel Reese said. "I haven’t been to the grocery store without security in probably three years. I don’t go out to the club by myself like I used to."

She continued, "People always say they want to be famous, but I’d rather be rich than famous. But I think I have accepted the life I am in. I’m really grateful. My mantra right now is to enjoy my free will. You only get this once."
