"Media's Just Annoying": Azzi Fudd Makes Candid Statement About Outside Opinions

Azzi Fudd is the projected No. 1 WNBA draft pick, but she has a message for the media. The UConn star is tired of the noise. She made her feelings clear in a recent interview.
The UConn guard addressed this after giving a not-so-subtle reply to a reporter asking whether the constant media attention rubs off on her in any way.
“ If anything, no offense. The media’s just like annoying,” Fudd told the UConn Daily in a recent interview. I’ve done it this year. I haven’t really been on Instagram, I feel like I go on TikTok, and my TikTok is literally anything but basketball. I get an occasional edit of Sarah or KK. But other than that, I’ve tried my best to stay off of that. I was hoping I wouldn’t have to see all the different noise from media and what people are saying, whether it’s about the team, about me, or about the draft.”
In her final season, Fudd is leading the undefeated (34-0) UConn Huskies while having her best year.
The 23-year-old has averaged 17.7 points with almost 45% shooting from outside the arc, a career high for her. She is also the frontrunner to win almost every single National Player of the Year honour this season.
After battling significant knee and foot injuries for three seasons, Fudd has emerged as a top star this year.
Her focus is now on finishing her collegiate career by winning the NCAA championship, just as Paige Bueckers did.
Azzi Fudd After UConn Revealed as the No.1 Overall Seed
The UConn Huskies head into the postseason as the No.1 overall seed over the UCLA Bruins, as announced on Selection Sunday. While head coach Geno Auriemma did not really care about going into the tournament as No.1 or No.2, Azzi Fudd feels excited for this opportunity to further cement UConn's stature as the best team in the country.
“Just excitement. I feel like that was it. It’s always interesting to see what comes out, but it’s excitement, especially after having a week of practice. You’re ready to play,” Fudd said.
While UConn seems unbeatable this season, going into the tournament with the only threat to their throne being the Bruins (31-1), we all know that any team has the potential to level up their game during March Madness.
