Fans felt robbed of Caitlin Clark’s Year 2 after her injury-shortened season. And now, they’re hoping their superstar returns at 100% before the regular season tips off. If her latest workout is any indication, she’s well on her way!
The excitement began when Team USA shared a clip of the Indiana Fever superstar draining shots during a workout. The session marks the first step toward competing in the upcoming World Cup qualifying games.
“22 getting buckets 🪣 Caitlin Clark went 22-for-25 from beyond the arc after her workout today 🔔.” Indy added fuel to the excitement, captioning their post.
Not just that, it also showed she hasn’t lost her rhythm despite months away from competitive action. Notably, CC hasn’t played since mid-July due to a left groin injury.
She was limited to just 13 games throughout the season, averaging 16.5 points per game. Her return after a multi-month absence has fans energized.
What Did Fans Really Think?
As soon as Indy posted CC’s clip, fans flooded the comments in celebration. “Look who’s back,” one user wrote. The former Hawkeyes superstar is targeting a return for the 2026 season as she continues her recovery. With her comeback getting closer, it’s no surprise fans are energized.
Still, there’s a cloud hanging over the league. Ongoing CBA negotiations in the WNBA could impact scheduling ahead of the planned May start. That uncertainty hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Bring on the season! @WNBA and PBA, wake up!” another fan posted, urging the league to resolve talks quickly. With only weeks left before the season, supporters are eager to see CC back on the court. But without a finalized CBA, delays remain possible.
Despite that, fans are confident about her return to Team USA. “Let’s goooooo CC. Caitlin is very ready and she looks stronger than ever. In her first game back I think she’s going to have near 50 points, 10 boards and 16 assists for Team USA,” one fan predicted.
Her shot appears sharp. Earlier in the season, she battled a shooting slump tied to a groin injury. But this workout suggests she could be back in dominant form. And if she carries that form into March, we could see big numbers from Clark at the Women's World Cup Qualifying Tournament.
Even then, some fans want more. “Just a casual 88%? That’s poor for Caitlin,” another user joked. The expectations are sky-high. Clark shot nearly 90.6% from the free-throw line during her rookie year, so fans naturally demand excellence.
The Fever are set to open the regular season at home on May 9 against the Dallas Wings, featuring CC against Paige Bueckers. All signs point to one thing: Caitlin Clark is getting close, and fans are ready.
