Olivia 'Livvy' Dunne has already displayed her prowess on the mats by winning the 2024 NCAA Championships, and now she is gearing up for her silver-screen debut, that too, with FOX Entertainment's Baywatch.

On March 12, the former LSU Tigers gymnast reposted Deadline's X update that disclosed her involvement in the reboot version of Baywatch. The caption to Dunne's repost displayed her excitement for the project. She penned, "Time to get to work!!!"

The X update from Deadline revealed some more about 'Livvy's' on-screen character in Baywatch. It said, "Fox is loading up its ‘Baywatch’ reboot with social media stars. The latest is former competitive gymnast and model Livvy Dunne, who has landed the recurring role of Grace, a highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard."

Dunne also shared the news with her Instagram followers through a post containing a carousel of snaps and screenshots of reports that confirmed her role. One of them displayed how elated she was to receive the offer, while her caption read, “I’m not a lifeguard, but I play one on TV, @baywatchtv” Dunne captioned on her post.

The original Baywatch show became a pop culture phenomenon during its airing in the 1990s. The show's unique take on beachside drama, along with star-studded cast members like David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, and Yasmine Bleeth, made it one of the most-watched shows in television history.

While Dunne has previously featured in an ongoing Fanatics Sportsbook campaign, Baywatch will be her first proper role as an actor, with a chance of expanding her already established brand even further.

How Livvy Dunne Landed Her Role in Baywatch

Dunne is one of the most well-known former college athletes, boasting a massive social media audience of over 13 million followers across all platforms. Her substantial fan base is one of the key reasons FOX chose her for the role, as the network hopes she will attract more viewers to the program.

Dunne has previously mentioned her passion for acting, revealing how she has also been taking acting lessons since last month, in an interview with People.

“It’s something I’ve been passionate about for quite some time. I was interested in doing that at LSU, but sports are your top priority when you’re a student-athlete at school; school and sports, but really gymnastics was my main focus.” Dunne said.

“And now that I’m done with school, I have more time to lean into the acting stuff and the creative side of things,” the 23-year-old added.

The show is all set to launch in fall this year, as Dunne joins an ensemble that consists of Stephen Amell, Jessica Belkin, Hassie Harrison, Shay Mitchell, Brooks Nader, David Chokachi, Thaddeus LaGrone, and Noah Beck.
