Lindsey Vonn Offers Serena Williams Skiing Advice After Viral Post

Serena Williams’ latest move even got the Olympics brass commenting. But guess who else was there? None other than Lindsey Vonn.

The 44-year-old has given 27 years to professional Tennis, having won 23 Grand Slams. But it looks like Williams is leaning towards skiing after leaving the tennis court. And Vonn knows how to get the tennis icon ready.

“Spring break time and I am trying something new”, Williams’ latest Instagram post’s caption read, featuring some photos of herself on the ice. And Vonn was quick to say, “Love this!! Need to get you some better gear, then you’ll be cruising!”

The 5X Olympian is never backing away from a challenge, even if it’s a casual stint. And it seems like she doesn’t intend to let Williams do that either. But much to her liking, the tennis icon might master the sport while she’s at it.

And even the Olympics celebrated her, writing, “Things we LOVE to see!” Though it was a playful social media exchange, Vonn’s flair in encouraging Williams was very evident. Plus, this isn’t the first time she has done so.

Lindsay Vonn Has Always Celebrated Serena Williams

Just this year, Vonn had a season-ending injury that put her out of the Olympic roster in Milan. She was praised by various athletes for her fighting spirit and zeal. But back in 2018, Vonn expressed who she drew inspiration from.

“Serena and Roger (Federer) have been my inspiration for years”, she said in a Bild interview. “Their successes, their fairness, their physical strength, and love for the sport are the qualities that I wish for, and I hope to share with them. What makes them special is their attitude on and off the court.”

Even during Williams’ 2019 French Open issue, when Dominic Thiem had to leave the conference room to accommodate Williams, Vonn picked her side. Saying, “she is the queen… she can probably say whatever she wants.”

So, her celebrating and encouraging Williams’ latest move doesn’t really come as a shocker, given the history they share.
