Lauren Betts Rescues Sister From Embarrassment After Sienna’s Blunder Involving Chicago Sky Star

Sienna Betts is one of the most entertaining young players to watch. She isn’t just impressive on the court, but has also built a following of 19.1K fans.
She often goes live on social media, and Sunday was no different. However, this time, it nearly turned into a blunder she barely escaped.
As usual, Sienna was answering questions one by one when a fan commented, “I can see Sienna being a mini Kia Nurse.” The comparison wasn’t entirely off-base. Kia Nurse is known as a reliable perimeter defender who relies on positioning rather than gambling, and she can guard multiple spots on the floor.
Sienna Betts isn’t too different in that sense. She anchors the paint defensively, uses verticality and timing instead of reckless shot-blocking, and communicates on defense. But nowhere in her mind did Sienna assume she was being compared to a Chicago Sky star.
Instead, she thought the fan was talking about a car. Confused, Sienna asked her sister, “You know that car? It’s that ugly little green one.” That’s when Lauren Betts quickly jumped in to clarify that Kia Nurse isn’t a car, she’s a WNBA basketball player. And Lauren was absolutely right.
What followed was a moment of silence, then laughter, a lighthearted reminder that Sienna is still just a freshman, even if her gameplay doesn’t always reflect that.
How Has Sienna Betts Looked on the Court for UCLA?
Sienna Betts’ college debut was delayed after she suffered a leg injury before the season, forcing UCLA’s frontcourt rotation to be tested in her absence. She finally made her return against the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Mustangs on Tuesday.
Although she was limited to just 10 minutes, the freshman still managed to contribute five points and two assists. She followed that up with a strong outing against Long Beach State, recording a season-high 14 points in just 15 minutes of action.
As of now, Betts is averaging 9.5 points on an impressive 70% field-goal percentage, along with 2.5 rebounds and two assists per game. The upward trend is clear as she continues to grow more comfortable on the floor. What do you think?
