Latest Injury Update Brings Heartbreaking News For Satou Sabally

Just three weeks ahead of Unrivaled's second season, there's been a massive update regarding Satou Sabally's participation in the league.
As per an update from Unrivaled on X, Phantom BC's Satou Sabally will be out indefinitely due to a concussion she sustained during the WNBA season.
"Due to lingering symptoms from a concussion sustained during Game 3 of the WNBA Finals, Phantom BC's Satou Sabally will be out indefinitely and will be reevaluated at a later date."
In the fourth quarter of Game 3 of the 2025 WNBA Finals, Satou Sabally's head slammed into a Las Vegas Aces defender's knee. After appearing unsteady, she was assisted back to the locker room and later was ruled out of Game 4. The Aces eventually took the title in Game 4.
Losing Sabally will be a big blow to Phantom. During Unrivaled’s first season, she averaged 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds while starting nearly every game she played. She finished as the league’s third-leading scorer and quickly became a fan favorite.
This season, she was touted as one of the players to look out for in Unrivaled, coming off a monster 16.3 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game season.
However, it's not the end for Sabally in Unrivaled's second season. As explained in the statement, she will be examined later in the season.
For now, Phantom BC has someone to cover her spot. "Tiffany Hayes has been signed by Phantom, rejoining Unrivaled after having played for Laces BC last year."
Hayes averaged 16.1 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game last season. While Phantom lost a captain in Sabally, they may still have offensive firepower.
Unrivaled Season 2 tips off on January 5, 2026, with the championship game scheduled for March.
