Amber Glenn’s Milan run was full of ups and downs, but Kylie Kelce doesn't have any complaints, especially after the way Glenn finished the campaign.

Glenn, a 3-time U.S. champion, entered the program as a medal favourite. But she fumbled in her short program despite helping Team USA win gold a few days ago. However, the 26-year-old made a fierce return in the Exhibition Gala, and Kelce couldn’t help but praise that resilience.

“I think Amber [Glenn] is a great example of that; her execution last night was insane, and to know what happened in the short program…” Kelce said on her Not Gonna Lie podcast on Feb 28. “There were some speed bumps, and last night was flawless.”

On February 17, due to an invalid jump, Glenn scored just 67.39 in her short program, ending in 13th place. But on the 19th, she delivered a near-perfect free skate and earned the season-best 147.52. She finished with a total of 214.91, placing fifth overall. And that’s what Kelce highlighted.

“And to score so high obviously with such a large deficit ahead of the free skate last night”, she said. “But she (Glenn) still came out there and said, ‘I’m not going to lay down and pretend like I’m just letting the buzzards pick me. I’m going to go out there and fight my a** off,’ and she did”.

Glenn faced hard criticism after her short program, which was basically just due to an imbalance. And after her resilient comeback, she made a strong point about it.

Amber Glenn’s Response to the Criticism

The 26-year-old Texas-born star had previously called herself a “resilient fighter”. She reached Milan through hardships and self-doubt, noting that she never thought that she’d make it. And doing otherwise was itself an achievement.

“I’m at the Olympics. I didn’t fall”, Glenn said during the broadcast following the free skate. “No matter how the elements go today, I want to remember that I never even thought that I’d get here, so that, in itself, is an accomplishment.”

She also highlighted the need to create “safer spaces” for athletes, who easily get “disturbing things said online” which are hard to ignore and are “really disappointing.”

Moving forward, Glenn will compete in the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships in Prague in March. For someone like her, who battled through adversities with unwavering determination, a podium finish will be much-awaited. Do you agree? Comment it down.
