Jordan Chiles’ All-Around Masterclass Seals 2026 Big Ten Title for UCLA

When UCLA's 2026 hung in the balance, Jordan Chiles stepped onto the floor and delivered what was needed.
Despite leading from the start, it was a tight competition. And after the first rotation, they scored 49.300 on uneven bars, thanks to three 9.900s from Nola Matthews, Jordan Chiles, and Sydney Barros.
However, there was constant pressure as both Iowa and Ohio State stayed close throughout the meet. But No. 5 UCLA stayed consistent and ended up securing the Big Four Meet at Pauley Pavilion.
They posted two scores under 9.700, but they quickly recovered. Tiana Sumanasekera scored 9.875. Ashlee Sullivan added a 9.900. Chiles delivered a 9.950.
All this helped UCLA finish the rotation with a 49.225 on floor and a three-event total of 147.725, ahead of Iowa, which finished with a 49.225 on floor.
They clinched the Big Ten regular-season title for the second straight year. And not just that, they did it with a perfect 9–0 record.
Following them was Ohio State in third position with a 49.000 on balance beam, and Maryland in fourth with a 48.775 on vault. However, for the Bruins, the championship win wasn’t the only headline of the night.
Jordan Chiles Is Building a Historic Year
It’s the final year for Jordan Chiles, and she’s ensuring she makes it her best yet. She already set a new conference record with her eighth Big Ten Gymnast of the Week award on February 24.
She is the only gymnast in the Big Ten to win the honor this year. Now, she has 19 career conference Gymnast of the Week awards, which is also a UCLA program record. And she’s not done yet.
Speaking at the post-game conferences, she said, "This isn’t the end. This is the regular season. We still have Big Ten championships, we have (NCAA) regionals and we have NCAAs. It’s just going up from here. Allowing the freshmen to see what a postseason meet could look like, they definitely showed up and did what they needed to do. Now, let’s just keep pushing forward."
