After a narrow 87–85 loss to Duke in the 2026 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, Flau’jae Johnson wrapped up her four-year college career and expressed heartfelt thanks to Coach Kim Mulkey and her fans.
Just hours ago, the 22-year-old shared an emotional post on X, posting two photos of heartfelt hugs with Kim Mulkey that highlighted their close bond and her journey.
"LSU… it’s really the end of this chapter 🥹," Flau’jae Johnson wrote as she officially wrapped up her four-year college career with the LSU Tigers, where she averaged 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists.
She continued, "Grateful for Coach Mulkey and every fan who loved me through it all. Y’all changed my life. Forever LSU. Forever loyal to the soil 💜 This will always be my home. Until next time!! Geaux Tigers Feauxever 🐯😩."
Although she didn’t win March Madness, her strong performance against Texas, where she scored 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, helped LSU reach the Sweet 16, scoring 44 points across two games.
Moreover, as the only remaining player from LSU’s 2023 title team and a projected first-round WNBA pick, she also received a standing ovation during her emotional final home game at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
However, her impact wasn’t limited to what she did on the court.

Head coach Kim Mulkey was also emotional after Johnson’s career ended, praising her loyalty and impact, saying, “I was trying not to cry."
Moreover, on April 4, as Flau'jae Johnson was honored with the key to the city by Mayor-President Sid Edwards in Baton Rouge, Mulkey spoke on her behalf, praising her character.
“The things that she does for people, and it never gets acknowledged, and that’s who she is," the 63-year-old said.
"She just got the big Kay Yow Award, Servant of the Year, because she gave to cancer research,” Mulkey said earlier this month, noting that Flau’jae Johnson has donated over $25,000 to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and supported free mammogram events.
Anyway, now that the 2026 WNBA Draft is set for April 13, it remains to be seen where she will be picked.
