Aari McDonald is on cloud nine. Not only did Breeze BC win their opener in Unrivaled, but she received a massive injury boost.
“Today is my first time playing in almost 5 months 🥹,” she shared on X.
After her 2025 season was cut short in August with an injury, she finally made a long-awaited return on the hardwood in Miami. McDonald shared how much the night meant to her.
It had been over 100 days since McDonald suffered a broken bone in her right foot during the Fever’s August 7 game against the Phoenix Mercury.
But her return was anything but smooth. Breeze BC secured a 69–62 victory. Paige Bueckers did the majority of the scoring (24 points) while McDonald could only put up six points.
And Aari McDonald Nearly Had Another Injury Scare
In the third quarter, McDonald committed an intentional foul and later walked away from the court, looking visibly uncomfortable.
It was a massive moment of worry for fans, especially since she had only returned to the court. However, McDonald later took to X to clarify.
"Had a little scare last night. I’m all good yall."
This is her first year playing Unrivaled as she joins Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Dominique Malonga, and more in the Breeze Basketball Club. They will be taking on Hive BC next, and hopefully, fans will see more of Aari McDonald.
