"Grateful For the Laughter": Connor McCaffery Melts Hearts with Birthday Tribute to Caitlin Clark

No. 22 has officially turned 24, and unsurprisingly, Caitlin Clark found herself trending once again. Part of the credit for this online buzz goes to her longtime boyfriend, Connor McCaffery.
That’s because McCaffery didn’t miss a moment. The Butler Bulldogs assistant coach took to Instagram on 22nd January and shared a heartfelt note alongside photos of the couple laughing together.
“Happy 24th CC ❤️ celebrating you is a privilege, and I’m so grateful for the laughter and joy you bring to our everyday lives ♾️ 2026 has so much in store for you 👀 I love you,” McCaffery wrote.
Naturally, CC didn’t wait long to respond. She replied with a flaming heart emoji and an emotional confession, “Love youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.” She later reposted the message on her Instagram stories.
The romance didn’t end there. McCaffery also gifted CC a bouquet of red roses, which the Indiana Fever superstar placed in a vase and shared a photo on her Instagram story.
Later, her boyfriend reposted it on his Instagram story with black hearts. And yes, that’s the kind of bond the Indiana Fever’s beloved couple shares.
Not the First Time They Showed Up for Each Other
Caitlin Clark and McCaffery have been together for nearly three years. They met while attending the University of Iowa. Since then, the two have never hesitated to celebrate special moments together.
For Clark’s 23rd birthday, McCaffery shared a carousel of romantic memories, from warm hugs to a boat outing. He captioned the post with heartfelt words, calling her inspiring and expressing his gratitude for having her in his life.
And CC matched that same energy. For McCaffery’s 27th birthday in July last year, she posted several photos, ranging from courtside moments to snapshots from events. She wrote that he makes every day better and wished him his best year yet.
Also, birthdays aren’t the only milestones they celebrate. Even anniversaries receive the same emotional touch. Last year, CC shared black-and-white photos of the couple and called McCaffery her favorite person, expressing gratitude for another year together.
McCaffery followed up with photos of them holding hands. He even added a simple but affectionate message about their years together. So yes, the two make time to publicly honor and support one another.
