The LSU Gymnastics delivered a sensational performance in the NCAA Regional Semifinals, heavily powered by Kailin Cho's season-defining performance.

Chio led the scorelines with two perfect 10's on vault and floor, becoming only the second gymnast in program history to score multiple 10’s at a regional, only behind Haleigh Bryant.

Her all-around score of 39.825 is the second-highest all-around score at a regional in program history, again trailing only Haleigh Bryant’s 39.850 at the 2024 Fayetteville Regional Final.

LSU placed first with a score of 198.375, followed by Clemson's 196.800, as they proceeded to the Regional Finals. Meanwhile, Auburn (195.500) and Nebraska (195.000) were eliminated.

The Fighting Tigers made history with their stellar team performance as the 198.375 final score marked the highest team score at an NCAA Regional in program history and the fourth highest score achieved by an LSU team.

Chio was the heart of the team's performance through her perfect 10s on both vault and floor exercise. Her flawless vault routine set the tone early and gave a crucial lead to LSU after the opening rotation.

Additionally, the LSU Tigers swept all individual titles. Chio's 10 took home the vault, floor, and all-around titles. Meanwhile, junior Konnor McClain and senior Ashley Cowan split the bars title with a 9.950. The beam title was split between junior Amari Drayton and sophomore Kaliya Lincoln at a 9.950.

Chio now sits at 12 perfect scores in her career, with 11 coming this season and four on vault, five on beam, and three on floor in her career.

While Baton Rouge saw history being made as Chio's performances had them energised, fans on social media were not far from their excitement.

Fans React to Kailin Chio's Perfect 10's

"That landing was flawless. Seriously, how many hours of practice did that take?" One fan admired the efforts and training it must have taken the 19-year-old to achieve this feat.

"She landed so perfect" another penned their admiration towards Chio's inch-perfect landing, something that she has mastered over a short period of time in the pros. "Wow! She nailed it! That was amazing!" Another fan expressed the same feeling.

"Queen status!!" A user provided her sentiment towards one of the best college gymnasts around.

"At this point, the judges should just have the 10.0 card permanently glued to their hands when Kailin walks out." One fan said this as Chio recorded her 12th perfect score in her career.

No. 2 LSU will compete in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center for the final time in 2026 on Saturday in the Baton Rouge Regional Final.

They will compete against No. 15 Clemson, No. 7 Stanford, and No. 10 Michigan, with the top two teams advancing to Fort Worth to compete in the NCAA Championship Semifinal on Thursday, April 16.
