Five Unforgettable WNBA Moments of 2025

The 2025 season is almost wrapped up. What a year it has been for the WNBA! Let's take a step back, go through an exciting 2025, and pick the top five moments.
On and off the WNBA court, a lot of things happened. Fans and players did not miss a chance to highlight those moments of craziness.
The Pink Wigs
A'ja Wilson won a fourth MVP award in September 2025, a milestone no one in the WNBA has ever accomplished. But Wilson wasn't the only one in the spotlight. Mark Davis, the Raiders owner and father of A'ja Wilson, went viral after rocking a pink wig.
To mark her accomplishment, Davis and even her father participated with pink wigs and flowers. To be honest, that was one of the coolest MVP celebrations anyone has ever witnessed.
Studbudz x All Star Weekend
Minnesota Lynx stars Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman hosted a nonstop 72-hour livestream on Twitch during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend in Indianapolis (July 17–20). They created a viral cultural phenomenon. From the orange carpet and hotel halls to the locker rooms and late-night parties, Williams and Hiedeman captured every moment of their weekend on camera.

By the final day of the weekend, their Twitch following had increased to about 70,000 as the stream received over 300,000 views. That's insane. By documenting moments that traditional news publications wouldn't often have access to, the feed has provided WNBA fans with a unique look into players' off-court lives.
The 'Mean Greens' Being Thrown Onto The Court (and syd in general)
In July 2025, the interruption first occurred during a Valkyries vs. Dream game. A few days later, it happened during a Valkyries vs. Chicago Sky game. Sydney Colson, a guard for the Fever, notoriously welcomed the turmoil.
On her podcast, "Unsupervised with Syd & TP," she "interviewed" the item, which she called "The Mean Green," while wearing all green. She commented, "Nightmare, depending on who you are, it is a dream for some," she joked. "I wanna just call it the 'mean green."
Colson then explains what happened during the game. "The 'mean green' was catapulted onto the court from the stands during live action," she continued. "The score is 75-75, there's like 51 seconds left. It's tied; this is a crucial point in the game. Somebody said, here's my moment, my time to shine."
What's more funny? Colson even made a special "Official Mean Green" Instagram feed to capitalize on the situation's humor. It was one of the most memorable moments of 2025 and an engaging conversation of humor.
Stewie Finding Out She Was The Only One 'Who Scored In The Fourth'
In September 2025, during a media conference after the Liberty lost the match to the Mercury by 79-73, Stewart was informed that she was the only Liberty player to score in the fourth quarter of Game 3. Her reaction was quite surprising.
When a reporter asked, "You had 14 in the 4th quarter, you're the only one to score, what was your mentality going into the frame or through the frame?" At that point, Stewie's mind was blown as she played with a sprained MCL. Well, that's toughness.
Sparks' Mascot Got Knocked Out
The incident happened during a game between the Sparks and Aces on July 29, 2025. Sparky the dog, the Sparks' mascot, and a few acrobats performed on the court during halftime
Sadly, Sparky either lacked stage directions or overlooked some of them. It was knocked flat on its back when an acrobat crashed into it while performing an amazing set of backflips. Clearly, the acrobat approached him to check on him.
The year was filled with on and off times. What were your favourite moments of 2025? Let us know in the comments.
