It would be an understatement to say that Angel Reese is happy with her trade to the Atlanta Dream, and she recently confirmed that with a playful "dream" pun.

On Tuesday, April 7, Reese was in New York to promote a new Victoria's Secret campaign when she was asked about her forthcoming move to the Dream. She gave a near-perfect response to the question about her new destination.

"Yes, Atlanta Dream, what's up? I really dreamed of this moment. I'm just living in my Barbie Dreamhouse. I'm just having so much fun," Reese told E! News. "Life is good. Life is great. I'm excited for this new journey and this new city and more to come."

This is the first time Reese has provided her full reaction to the trade following the announcement, as she only reacted to it on X before this interview.

The Chicago Sky traded Angel Reese to the Dream for a pair of first-round picks for the next two seasons. The deal also included the Dream's ability to swap second-rounders with the Sky in 2028.

Angel was drafted as the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft by the Chicago Sky. And though she was only there for two seasons, she certainly made her mark.

Reese is the only player in WNBA history to average at least 12 rebounds per game for two consecutive seasons, according to ESPN. Moreover, she led her team in the most points and assists last season, and the whole league in the most double-doubles.

Now taking her talents to Atlanta, Reese has massively uplifted her chances to win the WNBA title next season.

The Dream finished tied for the second-best record in the WNBA last season with the Las Vegas Aces. They finished just four games worse than the champion New York Liberty.

But contrary to popular belief, Reese did not request the trade to the Dream, as the Sky worked closely with her team to find her a new home, and there was no contention between the two parties, as per ESPN's Alexa Philippou.

Why did the Chicago Sky Trade Angel Reese?

Reese’s relationship had deteriorated with the Sky over her two years with the team, mainly due to their lackluster performances throughout last season.

The 23-year-old voiced her opinion over this last year, but faced backlash due to publicly shedding a negative light on her own team, that too, as their star player.

“I’m not settling for the same [expletive] we did this year. We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.” Reese said. She was suspended for her comments and apologized later.

The final nail in the coffin was the Sky firing former head coach Teresa Witherspoon, whose Reese was a big fan of.

While Reese and the Sky's relationship ended on good terms, it was clear that the latter felt things were not going to get better with their star forward. After Reese's comments, Sky must have felt like Reese had become bigger than the team itself.

Regardless of why Chicago made this decision, two first-round picks are certainly not a bad haul.

Do you think that the Sky will benefit from trading Reese? Or will it be the other way around?
