“Dawn Staley Is Building a Dynasty”: Basketball World Loses Their Cool as South Carolina WB Make NCAA History

After their loss to Texas in the SEC final, Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks have made clear adjustments and were in full control from the tipoff in the Sweet 16.
And while Oklahoma came in confident after having beaten the Gamecocks earlier in the season, including a January 94–82 overtime win, South Carolina was a different animal this time around, as they beat the Sooners 94-68.
The victory, apart from sending the Gamecocks into the Elite 8, was also the first time that Dawn Staley and her team scored 90+ points for three straight games, having beaten the Southern Jaguars 103-34 and the USC Trojans 101-61.
The game against the Sooners saw South Carolina take control right away with a 10–0 run. This is in line with their pattern of snatching early leads, as the combined run of their first three games this season comes up to 43-0.
They led 23–13 after the first quarter and extended it to 47–28 by halftime. Oklahoma tried to make a push, but South Carolina stayed in control and finished with a 26-point win.
And as South Carolina's dominance on the court made headlines, the reaction online was just as loud.
Fans Hype South Carolina
"The girls are cooking now," a comment read.
And cook they did, as South Carolina was led against the Sooners by Raven Johnson with 18 points and Ta’Niya Latson with 28.
Tessa Johnson added 14 more, helping the team shoot 64% from three in the first half and finish at 71% for the game.
Praising the 3x NCAA champion coach, a fan wrote, "Dawn Staley isn’t building a team, she’s building a dynasty. 90+ points three games in a row is just terrifying."
Another comment echoed a similar sentiment, reading, "Three straight 90-point games to open the tournament?? South Carolina's offense is operating like a video game on max difficulty. Dawn Staley has this program on another level."
"Three straight 90-point games to open the NCAA Tournament? That’s dominance, not just form," a fan commented.
Yet another fan wrote, "Three straight 90-point games to start the NCAA Tournament First time in program history and it feels normal for this South Carolina team. Absolute killers!"
"Three straight 90-point games?? South Carolina are not playing with anybody," another fan commented.
"When a program hits three 90-point games in a row it reshapes tournament expectations is this a new standard for elite scoring," a fan opined.
As a part of the Elite Eight for the sixth straight season, South Carolina will face the winner of the TCU-Virginia game for a spot in the Final Four in Phoenix.
