The Gamecocks may have added Alicia Tournebize to the team, but from the looks of things, and fans may be able to see her play very soon.

After the Gamecocks signed her, coach Dawn Staley, ahead of the game against Florida, gave a clear answer.

“Sunday? I don’t know. Maybe. We don’t know when she’s gonna get here. I think she has appointments, documentation that she needs in order for her to get here. But hopefully before school starts.

Fans are hoping Tournebize can get on the court quick. She averaged 2.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, and just under one assist in 7.6 minutes across eight games this season. And Staley is excited.

"We think we got a gem of a player. She is 6-foot-7, athletic, and she’s 18 years old. She’s definitely gonna have to get in the weight room and see."

Once Tournebize arrives, she’ll add depth to South Carolina’s roster, likely playing immediately to give relief to starters Madina Okot and Joyce Edwards. The timing is ideal as the Gamecocks open SEC play at home on Jan. 1 against Alabama, followed by a trip to Florida on Jan. 4.

For now, the Gamecocks will continue dominating without their French forward, while fans eagerly watch for news about when Alicia Tournebize will finally join the team in Columbia.
