Going neck to neck with Michael Jordan as a teenager almost sounds like a bluff. But here’s Cooper Flagg to prove everyone wrong.
February 6, 2026, a 135-123 loss against the San Antonio Spurs and a 6-game losing streak, that’s what the Dallas Mavericks are up to. But Flagg’s career is having none of that.
The 19-year-old has just become the youngest player in NBA history to record four consecutive 30-point games. A record previously held by Jordan, whoposted four straight games of 30+ points and 5+ boards in 1985.

Flagg had 32 points and 6 rebounds against the Spurs. In previous games, he scored 36 against the Boston Celtics, 34 against the Houston Rockets, and 49 against the Charlotte Hornets.
While Jordan did it at 21, with multiple seasons at North Carolina, Flagg is just a freshman. And this “one-and-done” rookie has also hit the 150-point benchmark in a four-game span, drawing praise from Coach Jason Kidd. This new record places him alongside Allen Iverson.
"Coop has been doing this at a high level for a while," Kidd said. "To be able to put up 30 against a really good defensive team is very impressive for a rookie."
However, no time to rest. With the new records under his belt, Flagg is warming up to face an ex-Maverick.
Dallas Will Play Against the Lakers on February 13
About a year ago, the Mavericks traded Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis. And most would call this one of the most scrutinised front-office blunders in modern NBA history. The 6’8 Guard is currently averaging 32.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.6 assists for the Lakers.
Meanwhile, Flagg is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.2 assists. While the new record is certainly a confident booster, the LeBron-Luka pair is the next big threat for the Mavericks before the All-Star break.
And even before that, there is the Phoenix Suns, who are set to play against Dallas on February 11. With Kyrie Irving out for the season, the Mavericks are already on short hand. But with Flagg on the roster, things might turn out in Dallas’ favour.
