Coco Gauff is already making a statement at the Australian Open, and it's not just with her performance. For the first time, fans can now purchase the custom New Balance kit she's wearing on the court.

Speaking to Tennis.com, Coco Gauff said, “A lot of people have been asking for a while to be able to buy my kits. There are two colors. I decided to wear purple today, because I felt like it gave more ‘day’ vibes. And obviously there is an orange kit for night.”

The World No. 3 stepped onto Rod Laver Arena for her opening-round match in Melbourne wearing a periwinkle tank top and a pleated skirt by New Balance (NB).

Gauff has been in collaboration with New Balance since 2018, when she was 14 years old. This year, she chose the two colors for a specific reason.

“I wanted something that felt powerful yet feminine—and shared my love for bold colors and the beach!” Gauff said. “I’m excited that fans can now wear a kit inspired by my on-court look. It’s a special way to share this journey with them.”

The Australian Open has been a platform for Gauff to show her work in designing. Last year, she came up with a custom design inspired by female Marvel heroes.

This year, the custom kit is described as an ode to “the spirit of summer”, with colors like periwinkle, marigold, and navy blue used throughout the outfits.

But The Outfit Isn't The Only Thing Coco Gauff Switched Up

She also changed up her hair color, “I thought it would help me out, considering there’s another ginger [men's world #2 Jannik Sinner] doing really well”.

Melbourne Park has already seen Gauff in the purple kit for round 1 as the 21-year-old began her campaign smoothly with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Kamilla Rakhimova.

She will face Olga Danilovic next, as a tough road awaits her to the finals.
