Candace Parker knows her WNBA trivia, but once in a while, a curveball has her react like “She starts?!” quickly turning the moment to disbelief. 

In the most recent episode of ‘Post Moves with Candace Parker & Aliyah Boston’, the duo played a segment called “Can you guess the WNBA Squad?”

Simple rules: Guess the WNBA team based on the college they went to. A visual of the court followed, with college logos placed at each position. Yet one lineup threw off both hosts, but more particularly Candace Parker. 

As Stanford, Notre Dame, UConn, and a few more logos popped up, Boston began, “So Stanford… Who went to Stanford? So it’s either Dallas. It’s Dallas,” she said. But Parker wasn't having it. Her immediate response summed up her confusion: “Ew.”

Boston stuck to her answer, but Candace Parker wasn't convinced. “Who from Stanford starts in the WNBA other than Nneka? Oh my gosh. This is… No, that’s not it.”

The reveal was just what Boston said, Dallas Wings. And the Stanford player was Haley Jones. “She starts?” Parker was surprised.

Even after Boston insisted, Parker pushed back, saying, “Okay, but that was not their starting lineup for the year.” Boston had the final word: “But it was their starting lineup.”

The Dallas Wings Roster

Perhaps Candace Parker was shocked at Jones' role listed as a starter since the overall 6th pick in the 2023 draft was waived in June 2025 by the Mercury. She played 4 games for the Phoenix Mercury and 24 for the Dallas Wings in 2025.

The Stanford alum averaged 7.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. 

Parker’s reaction is valid given her box score and the uncertainty the Dallas Wings will be facing going into free agency and picking a No. 1 pick. 

With conversation going around Arike Ogunbowale potentially leaving the Dallas Wings for an expansion team, the franchise needs to position itself behind its starters.
