Cameron Brink’s High-Protein Breakfast Hack for WNBA Muscle Gains

Sparks star Cameron Brink is on a mission to come back stronger, and she’s doing it with intention and a special breakfast.

The WNBA star said that lifting heavier and eating smarter has transformed her strength and recovery. “I’m stronger than I’ve ever been, and that’s because I’ve tried to be genuinely intentional about what I’m putting in my body and my routine,” Brink told Business Insider.

It starts with breakfast. She preps overnight oats or chia pudding loaded with protein powder, berries, and honey. The mix helps with digestion, energy, protein for muscle growth, and fiber for gut health. This is important to supplement her weight training. “That’s what ACL recovery does to you”, she said, referring to her last season's ACL tear.

Coffee comes after, “I’ve shifted to having my caffeine after I have my breakfast, which I feel like has made a huge difference.”

Brink mentioned that her latest partnership venture with MyFitnessPal helped her understand her needs. “Something I never realized is how much protein I actually need,” the 6'4 player said. Tracking protein and macros, she explained, “really made a huge difference.”

But breakfast isn't the only meal that she monitors. Her routine is completed with a chef-prepared lunch including iron, vitamin D, and creatine at the Sparks’ facility. It is often paired with two pieces of salmon, Japanese sweet potatoes, asparagus, and then a nap.

Healthy snacks like bananas, dates with almond butter, or almonds keep her going. But the pre-game snack is a classic. “I love peanut butter and jelly… a lot of carbs,” she said.

Dinner is a shared activity with fiancé Ben Felter, who handles the protein while Brink preps sides like pasta salad or baked potatoes.

As Unrivaled is underway in Miami, Cameron Brink arrived at Sephora Arena in low-rise cargo jeans, a metallic green tank, and chain-detailed pumps on January 19th. She posted the look on Instagram with the caption “breezy girl 🌬️🤍.”

Her Breeze teammates flooded the comments—“THAT girl 😍,” Dominique Malonga wrote while Paige Bueckers added “Beautiful breezyyy Brink😍”.

Breeze later went on to win over the Mist 83–64, with Brink posting a season-high 18 points.

While Brink swears by some habits, she also emphasized that flexibility is key. Occasionally, she will treat herself with Dave's Hot Chicken or In-N-Out Burger. “I'm not going to beat myself up”, she said to not feel guilty about eating food.

Would you try her diet?
