Caitlin Clark's Teammate Ends Five-Year Drought With Major Career Milestone

Mar 2, 2026, 2:30 PM CUT

Odyssey Sims' five-year wait is finally over. The Indiana Fever guard, a teammate of Caitlin Clark, was crowned champion in the Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball league after years of frustratingly close calls.

The 33-year-old topped the leaderboards with 6,764 points, comfortably outscoring second-place Aneesah Morrow by 1,420 points.

"I'm just happy... like, I finally did it. This means more to me than anything else right now." Sims said with the gold medal and "GOAT" necklace hanging around her neck.

Sims previously finished in sixth place in 2022, third place in 2023, and runner-up in the past two seasons. This victory is even sweeter because the league increased the difficulty in this year's edition by requiring players to have a different task each week, with a total of 41 switching teams by the end.

"You have to get the hang of it... the biggest thing is just being able to adjust to every situation. I've gotten the hang of it because this is year five for me." The Fever star addressed the change in the format starting this season.

Caitlin Clark and co. would definitely be sending congratulatory messages after the 33-year-old's long-awaited triumph. The Indiana Fever can also use some assistance from the veteran who they acquired last August, as a crucial year for them is about to kick off soon.

While Sims was far and away the clear winner this season, the difference between second and third place was too close for comfort.

Connecticut Sun forward Aneesah Morrow's first season could not have gone any better. The 23-year-old secured second place with 5,344 points. Morrow also paired up with eventual winner Sims in Week 4 of the tournament.

While veteran Rebekah Gardner of the New York Liberty completed the podium with 5,269 points, just 75 off the silver medal, after she was overtaken by Morrow in the final game of the season. The 35-year-old averaged 12.8 points per game and won three MVP awards while also captaining three different teams to a 6-3 overall record.

Tina Charles secured fourth place with 4,875 points with eleven double-figure performances, while Natasha Mack earned the honour of Defensive Player of the Year after leading the league with 13.2 rebounds and 3 steals per game. Meanwhile, the Newcomer of the Year award was handed to Kaitlyn Chen.
