Caitlin Clark Reacts After Unexpected Package Arrives From Nike Star

A recent gift from a soccer superstar has Caitlin Clark joking about a new career.
After receiving a PR package from Barcelona player Alexia Putellas on February 8, the WNBA star joked about playing a sport she hasn't seriously played since high school.
The package contained Putellas’ PE Nike Phantom 6 Low Elite boots and a handwritten note. Her caption, "I’m coming out of retirement," was followed by a cheeky emoji.
The Fever Guard was talking about playing soccer again. While Cailtin Clark ultimately chose basketball, she also used to play soccer. She even played two seasons at the high school level for Dowling Catholic High School in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Clark was no slouch either, as she put up 26 goals in 6 games, becoming the only freshman named first-team all-state as per Hawk Central.
On the other hand, Putellas already has almost every trophy under her belt. Including Ballon d’Or Féminin (2021, 2022), FIFA Women’s World Cup (2023), Golden Player Woman Award, and more.
Meanwhile, Clark has off the basketball court since July 15, 2025, and is doing more than just waiting for her signature Nike shoe release.
Caitlin Clark Drops Another Update
On February 7, Clark posted some photos on Instagram. The caption said, “Friday at the office,” and it was clear that those snapshots were taken during practice.
However, this is far from the first time the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year has posted about her getting back in the paint. In December 2025, the WNBA shared a clip captioned: "The youngins puttin’ in that work together."
That clip showed the Fever Guard working with Team USA players. That being said, Caitlin Clark, alongside stars like Napheesa Collier, Breanna Stewart, A'Ja Wilson, and others, has still not committed to returning in May 2026 for the WNBA season.
Unless the WNBA and the players don't agree on a new CBA, Clark's comeback may be pushed back. Yet, what did you think of Putellas' gift to the 24-year-old? Let us know in the comments.
