Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson have officially traded their viral rivalry for a shared playlist. New practice footage shows the pair dancing to Rihanna as the Indiana Fever prepare for the Dallas Wings.
Coming freshly off a 109-91 victory against the New York Liberty, the Fever is preparing to start May by taking on the Dallas Wings. Practice footage captured the current dynamic between the two stars.
“Caitlin Clark and Raven Johnson chatting during practice - then start vibing to Rihanna together”, Wish TV News’ reporter Angela Moryan posted on April 27. The video captured the moment well, with Sophie Cunningham also present in the frame.
In fact, Johnson could be seen clapping and showing some casual dance moves to both Cunningham, who was sitting down on the paint, and Clark. And after the chat was over, Clark slowly walked away from the spot.
This could be an active reflection of how Johnson is making her place amidst the team.
Against the Liberty, this former South Carolina star played 18 minutes, adding 6 points. Not her best, but the real showdown is yet to come.
While the team is trying out different lineups to figure out what’s best, Johnson is set to become one of the key assets of the group. But strangely enough, things didn’t begin on good notes.
Past Ripple Between Raven Johnson and Caitlin Clark
When Johnson made it to the Fever’s roster as the 10th overall pick, a past on-court exchange resurfaced in discussion. And it was not solely about Johnson’s two-way on-court impact, which she’d bring to the team.
During the 2023 Final Four between the Iowa Hawkeyes and South Carolina, Clark was guarded by Johnson. But it wasn’t an offensive charge. The Fever 22 waved Johnson off at the three-point line, letting her shoot and miss a wide-open 3.
Johnson later acknowledged the criticism affected her mentally. However, the latest practice clip was like the light at the end of the tunnel. It hinted at a mended relationship between the two.
