Caitlin Clark Makes Honest Observation While Sharing Stage With NBA Icons

Feb 2, 2026, 3:00 AM CUT

Caitlin Clark's 2025 WNBA season with the Fever fell short due to injuries. She skipped Unrivaled's second season during the offseason, too. But the offseason became her stage anyway.

One of the biggest moments? Her debut as a basketball analyst on NBC's "Basketball Night in America" this past Sunday. She co-hosted, breaking down the Lakers-Knicks clash at Madison Square Garden.

Clark stood alongside NBA icons Carmelo Anthony, Reggie Miller, and host Maria Taylor, as she dropped observations that had everyone cracking up.

"I'm going to wear stilts next time," she tweeted on X afterward. She owned her spot as the 6-foot (1.83 m) guard next to the giants: Taylor at 6'2" (1.88 m), Miller, and Melo, both towering at 6'7" (2.01 m). A fun moment all around.

Reggie Miller—the Pacers legend who spent all 18 NBA seasons in Indiana- hit 2,560 threes (seventh all-time). He couldn't get over Clark's shooting prowess. Carmelo Anthony, the 10-time All-Star who played for six teams and won a scoring title, brought his silky post-up wisdom to the desk. Maria Taylor, the 6'2" powerhouse who's hosted everything from the Olympics to SEC football, kept the energy smooth.

Clark, shortest by a hair, held her own like she'd been calling games her whole life. She lit up the panel, proving that Iowa shooter swagger. And speaking of her deadly shot, Miller had plenty more love to share.

Reggie Ranks Caitlin No. 1 Shooter

But the real fireworks from the broadcast were when Miller handed Clark the crown as Indiana's top shooter.

In a clip the Fever posted on Instagram, the Hall of Famer declared, “There’s a new shooter from Indiana. I’m the third-best shooter in the state of Indiana now. It goes Caitlin, Tyrese [Haliburton], then now myself.”

Clark replied, “That’s not true,” playfully nodding that Pacers star Haliburton might have words too.

And this was not CC's one and done, but just her debut. She'll hop back on March 29 for the Knicks-Thunder game at Paycom Center. And that conversation will be with the crew as OKC defends its title.

While we keep an eye on that, follow us for updates and more.
