Caitlin Clark Left in Disbelief After Stephen Curry's Basketball Marvel

Dec 13, 2025, 6:25 PM CUT

The Golden State Warriors were set for Friday night at Chase Center, with Golden State preparing to face the Minnesota Timberwolves. Fans were still settling in when Stephen Curry stole the spotlight even before the game started.

Before the game, Curry handed the ball to a nearby security guard and asked him to throw it back towards him. What came next felt unreal.

Stephen Curry launched a one-handed shot from the tunnel and somehow made it on the opposite basket. Without hesitation, he turned and sprinted back down the tunnel like it was just another routine.

The moment instantly blew up online, and reactions poured in from across the basketball world. Caitlin Clark summed up what everyone was thinking with a simple post on X: “This has to be AI.”

The NBA jumped in as well, posting, “STEPHEN CURRY ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Looks like he's ready for his return to the lineup” as the Warriors shared the video ahead of their matchup with Minnesota.

Stephen Curry returned to the Paint after missing five games due to an injury in left quadriceps. Though he scored  39 for his team, that was not enough to defeat the Timberwolves, who beat the Warriors with 127-120.

However, Stephen Curry's pre-game moment remained the highlight and became a talking point with Clark commenting as well. But, this was not the first time.

Catilin Clark "Idolize" Stephen Curry

In June this year, before making her WNBA Bay Area debut, Catilin talked about her admiration for Curry. She said, "To me, he's one of the greatest basketball players of all time. He's really changed basketball. Everybody that's ever met him knows how good of a person he is. He's somebody I certainly idolize."

The comments being made by Clark just before her Chase Center debuts, makes sense, as it's the home turf for Curry. Though Clark's debut was not what she expected, as she finished with just 11 points, seven rebounds, nine assists, and one steal.

Nonetheless, for her, the highlight of the night was to play on the home turf of her idol.
