Caitlin Clark has made a statement expressing her desire to see the pop sensation Bad Bunny live. The 24-year-old has not shied away from appreciating the star and has even openly liked Instagram posts about his Super Bowl LX performance.

Clark, who is in Puerto Rico for the FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament, made the statement during a media session. It was first reported by El Nuevo Dia.

“I’m super excited. It’s my first time in Puerto Rico. It’s truly beautiful. I wish Bad Bunny was at the game. I wish he were performing. I checked to see if he was going to be singing while we’re here, but he’s not. Maybe they should bring him," Clark said.

And while we’re yet to know whether she was serious about hoping to see him, what’s serious is the significance that the tournament holds for Caitlin Clark.

Caitlin Clark Has a Lot Riding on This Tournament

The statement about Bad Bunny aside, the tournament will mark a critical comeback for Caitlin Clark. The Indiana Fever point guard’s year in 2025 was derailed after a series of quad, groin, and ankle injuries.

Further, the tournament marks Clark’s senior Team USA debut, after winning gold with the U16 and U19 teams, and will position her for major international events like the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The debut will also fulfill a childhood dream of hers.

Speaking about her return to the court, Caitlin Clark said, “It'll probably take me a second to knock a little bit of the rust off. I'll probably be a little bit nervous, which I usually don't get nervous, but that probably comes from (how) I haven't really played basketball in a while.”

"I'm sure after the first minute of running around on the court, I'll be just fine. But more than anything, just really excited. I know how much work and how much time I put in to make sure my body's as healthy as it can be and to get back,” she added.
