Caitlin Clark has publicly called LeBron James her favorite basketball player of all time and even referred to him as the GOAT when discussing NBA players she admires. But if you ask CC, it’s not just King James’ on-court skills that make him great.

It's also his discipline to set aside some of his most favorite things that make James a role model for Clark.

ESPN shared a clip from the February 17 episode of the Mind the Game podcast featuring Bron. In a clip, the NBA icon spoke about quitting his favorite chocolate chip cookies and wine while preparing for the 2025-26 season.

Caitlin Clark couldn't help but comment, “I’d rather retire than do this. This is why he’s him." The hilarious response immediately became the most-liked comment with over 4,200 reactions.

For King James, the decision comes after his debut was pushed back while he rehabbed a sciatica nerve issue on his right side. He even missed the first 14 games of the season. Feeling like he needed to sacrifice something, he committed to the change.

So CC’s reaction is understandable, but her response also highlights something interesting.

Caitlin Clark Is Fond of Cheez-Its

Yes, CC enjoys tasty snacks, and it’s something she has talked about publicly. She’s been known to enjoy a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich from places like McDonald’s for breakfast, often paired with an iced macchiato.

She’s even joked publicly about wanting plenty of Cheez-Its around. And the list doesn’t end there, with smash and cheeseburgers making her go-to comfort foods list.

In fact, Caitlin Clark snacks during games, whether she's on the bench or taking a break between periods. On July 15, 2025, Clark couldn't play because of her groin injury, but she was snacking on the bench.

"She snacks a lot on the bench, you notice that?," said announcer Ryan Ruocco. "She doesn’t hide her snacks like her dad did," added Rebecca Lobo.

However, she isn’t careless about her nutrition. On game days, she snacks mostly to keep her energy level high throughout the game.
