Caitlin Clark Congratulates Aliyah Boston on New Indiana Fever contract

Caitlin Clark took to social media to congratulate her teammate and one of her best friends, Aliyah Boston, who secured the richest WNBA contract to date. The big news broke on Friday,

Boston's agent Zack Miller told ESPN's Shams Charania that the 24-year-old signed a historic four-year contract extension that will see her earn $6.3 million through 2029.

Clark could not contain her excitement and made an X post to congratulate Boston over the huge deal that overtakes four-time MVP A'ja Wilson's recent record contract renewal.

"Absolutely🙌congrats AB!!!!!" CC wrote.

Caitlin Clark also reposted ESPN reporter Shams Charania's X post about Aliyah Boston's contract details. Boston will earn $1 million this year while securing 20% cap from 2027-2029. The deal was structured in this way to help the Fever with other contract renewals and new signings.

The Fever drafted Boston as the No.1 overall pick in 2023 out of South Carolina. She is yet to miss a single WNBA game over the course of her three years in the league.

Boston has also been named an All-Star in all three of her seasons and finished sixth in the MVP voting last year after averaging 15 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game.

As for Clark, she will be eligible for a deal of her own next offseason after seeing out her current deal, earning $530,000 in 2026 and a potential max of $1.3 million and supermax (if she becomes 2026 MVP) of $1.7 million in 2027.

While it is far-fetched for now, Clark could be the first WNBA player to break into eight figures soon enough. But for now, she cheered Boston on all social media platforms, including Instagram, where Boston replied via a story.

Aliyah Boston Replies to Caitlin Clark's Congratulatory Message

Apart from X, the 2024 No.1 overall pick was also one of the first players to share Boston's new deal on Instagram. "Lfg 😌💕 @aliyah.boston," Clark wrote in an Instagram story, sharing a post from ESPN’s Shams Charania reporting the news.

Boston saw the message, and she responded to Clark with just two words. In the story repost, Boston wrote, "Thankss sugaaa 🥰". Boston also reposted the congratulatory stories of Kelsey Mitchell and Lexie Hull.

The Indiana Fever managed to reach the semifinals last season without the talents of Clark, who was sidelined with a groin injury. The Fever now hopes to complete last season’s quest after a busy free agency period.

They have secured the futures of cornerstone players Kelsey Mitchell and Aliyah Boston, added key depth by re-signing Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull, and brought in new additions like Monique Billings and No. 10 overall pick Raven Johnson.

We will once again see Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston play together on the opening night of the WNBA season on May 1. The duo will go against Dallas Wings' Paige Bueckers and No. 1 overall pick Azzi Fudd in what is expected to be a thriller of a game.
